Workshop Overhaul – Step 1: Wood Storage

In this video, I tackled a long-overdue project: cleaning up my woodshop! It had gotten seriously out of hand, with wood piles everywhere, making it difficult to find what I needed.

I've been wanting to make another stained glass piece (like the one in my previous video), but the chaos was too much. I actually did make another one, but it's a gift, so I can't show it off yet.

My main focus was on organizing the wood. I considered elaborate solutions like a rotating Lazy Susan for storage, but those were too complex, expensive, and difficult to move if we ever relocate.

I decided to go back to a simple wall storage system I used before, which worked great. It provided easy access to all my different types of wood.

Of course, no project is without its distractions. I got sidetracked by a beautiful slab of wood I've had for years. I'm still brainstorming ideas for it, but I'm leaning towards something unique, rather than the typical epoxy river table.

The clean-up process involved a lot of sorting, discarding, and rearranging. I even repurposed an old shelving unit into a cart for smaller pieces of wood and plywood.

It wasn't the most glamorous project, but it feels amazing to have a more organized and functional workspace.
